Thanks for stopping by. Strange Creatures of the Adult Wilderness is a nine-episode comedy web series which will be released weekly, every Wednesday, beginning in September 2023.

All nine episodes were filmed on Chicago’s south side (a special thanks to the Rosenwald Court Apartments and Omni Ecosystems for their generosity).

The series got rolling in 2022 when Todd Wells recruited former Second City classmate, Mireillee Lamourt, to help get the production up and running. One year and too many hiccups to count later, post-production is drawing to a close and the Strange Creatures will soon be loosed upon the world.

A Little more about the director…

A long-time short-story author, Todd Wells cut his directorial teeth during the quarantine, staging outdoor musical comedies for his Hyde Park, Chicago neighborhood. Unfortunately, the Covid vaccines turned out to be effective, and Wells could no longer count on attracting an audience who had no other entertainment options. Pivoting from stage to screen, he launched Strange Creatures of the Adult Wilderness. 

Wells grew up in the New Jersey suburbs. He moved to Chicago in the 1990s, having made stops in Boston and New Orleans along the way. In addition to writing scripts and cajoling actors, Wells also dabbles in time travel, in that he sometimes plays bass in a 1980s cover band.
